**After the success of the 2018 Keb’ Mo’ Blues Safari, we at MSWIA music safaris are thrilled to welcome the Americana Blues icon back to South Africa for t**he Keb’ Mo’ Blues Safari 2024.

Join Keb’ Mo’ on his exclusive 6 day Blues Safari in South Africa! You will enjoy a full South African safari and cultural tour where you will experience South African wildlife, culture, music and dance, all while dining on fine South African cuisine and playing your guitars with Keb’ Mo’ and his team of specially invited South African musician friends.

For his 2024 Blues Safari Keb’ Mo’ invited a star studded team of South Africa’s finest musicians to make guest appearances and offer performances and workshop sessions with the intention of diving deeper into the heart, song and soul of this culturally rich and diverse part of the world.

Joining Keb’ Mo’ in offering performances and workshops are Zimbabwean Guitar King – Louis Mhlanga, and Maskandi-folk duo sensation Qadasi & Maqhinga.

On this 2024 Keb’ Mo’ Blues safari we are going to be inspired by the daily workshop sessions and performances by Keb’ Mo’ & friends and marvel at the unprecedented natural beauty of the Pilanesberg.

The highlight would be the 2 x daily safari drives and 4 full days of being immersed in music and jamming with Keb’ Mo’ in the African bush.

The Keb’ Mo’ Blues Safari is an event for music-lovers of all ages, levels, interests, and tastes! Whether you are an experienced player, a beginner, or just an enthusiastic fan, our six day program offers activities and workshops for you.

Our environment is non-competitive and strictly about immersing oneself in the joys of music and our lovely surroundings! The Keb’ Mo’ Blues Safari promises to be a highly rewarding and unforgettable musical adventure.

During the workshop sessions, you can expect practical, hands-on instruction providing first hand musical encounters with Keb’ Mo’. Get to experience Keb’ Mo’ talk about his songs, songwriting processes and guitar style.

All of this personalized and tailored instruction, an al fresco ‘bush performance’ by Keb’ Mo’ and the added bonus of jamming alongside Keb’ Mo’ himself in the heart of one of the most beautiful settings in Africa will make this an unforgettable, once in a lifetime Music Safari experience.

DESCRIPTION

On this music safari we will be staying at the exceptional 5 star Ivory Tree Game Lodge, which is situated within the Pilanesberg Game Reserve, one of the largest volcanic complexes of its kind in the world with it’s rare rock types and structure making it a unique geological feature. The early presence of man can be seen in the numerous Stone and Iron Age sites that are scattered throughout the Park.

We will also visit the Leopard Lodge with it’s breathtaking views of the Hartebeespoort dam, where we will enjoy lunch and cultural dance and traditional music performances. In addition to this we will spend the night at the elegant Mount Grace Country Lodge in the Magaliesberg.

On the following day we will depart Mount Grace and head out to the Ivory Tree Game Lodge to start our music safari. During this Keb’ Mo’ Blues Safari we will enjoy 2x daily game drives in open air safari jeeps, and spend the rest of the day getting instruction from world renowned Blues man – Keb’ Mo’ and his team of guest artists.

Itinerary

Day 1: South African Boma braai lunch at the Leopard lodge where you will enjoy jamming in the shade of the African thorn trees, a Gin tasting and a cultural &

traditional performance by local dancers and musicians. The evening will be spent at the elegant Mount Grace Country Lodge.

Day 2: Breakfast at Mount Grace and depart for the Ivory Tree Game Lodge. Arrival and lunch at the Ivory Tree Game Reserve will be followed by our first Game drive which will officially kick off our Keb’ Mo’ Blues safari.

Day 3-6: Each day starts off with coffee, tea, fruits and snacks served. We will then head out on the game vehicle for our first early morning game drive. Breakfast will be served upon our return, followed by our Master class sessions with Keb’ Mo’ & friends. This will be followed by an evening game drive, after which dinner will be served.

Day 7: We will start the day off with an optional early morning game drive followed by breakfast at the lodge. Departure at 11:00 am.
